CMIT/MIT – Broad-Spectrum Industrial Biocide
CMIT/MIT is a synergistic 3:1 blend of chloromethylisothiazolinone and methylisothiazolinone. It is a highly effective, broad‑spectrum biocide for water‑based industrial systems. Used at low concentrations (0.05–0.2%), it controls bacteria, fungi, yeast, and algae in metalworking fluids, water treatment, paints, adhesives, and polymer emulsions. It offers fast kill, good pH stability (2–9), and is formaldehyde‑free.

Product Uses

  • Metalworking Fluids (MWFs)

CMIT/MIT (0.05–0.2%) prevents bacterial and fungal spoilage in cutting fluids, grinding fluids, and quenchants. It extends fluid life, reduces foul odors, and protects machine tools from corrosion.

  • Water Treatment (Cooling Towers, Ponds)

Added to industrial recirculating water, CMIT/MIT controls algae, biofilm, and Legionella. It maintains system efficiency and reduces downtime for cleaning.

  • Paints & Coatings (In-Can Preservation)

In water‑based emulsions, CMIT/MIT protects against microbial contamination during storage. It does not affect paint color, gloss, or rheology.

  • Adhesives & Sealants
