What is pvpp crosslinked polyethylene pyrrolidone
PVPP is a purified vinyl pyrrolidone in the form of a cross-linked homopolymer. Crosslinked polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP-P) can form complexes with phenols and alkaloids to remove them from plant samples, thus preventing the modification and interference of proteins and allowing for more accurate determination of protein content. It has also been reported that crosslinked polyethylpyrrolidone (PVP-P) can improve the activity of the enzyme.
Pharmaceutical grade PVPP

Chemical structure formula:
Product features: white or yellowish powder, no special odor, insoluble in water, acid, alkali and other common organic solvents. However, it has a strong expansion capacity in water and does not produce gel accumulations, and can be complexed with peptides, hydroxyl acids and other low molecular quantization and substances. Crosslinked POvidone is the disintegrating agent of choice for high-grade tablet drugs, especially suitable for instant, chewable tablet formulations.
Use: In view of the fact that the additive POvidone is insoluble in water and other solvents and rapidly expands in contact with water, it is widely used in the pharmaceutical industry: 1) disintegrators, 2) suspension stabilizers, 3) water absorbers, 4) complex agents of tannins and polyphenols in plant extracts or botanical drugs.
Application: Due to its insolubility in water and other organic solvents and its complexation ability, it is widely used as a stabilizer and clarifying agent in the beer/wine/beverage industry. Crosslinked polyvinylpyrroxanone can adsorb polyphenols and tannins during the production process of beer/wine/beverage products, which can improve the color and flavor of these products and extend the shelf life of the products.
