This product is a water-insoluble homopolymer synthesized from n-ethylene-2-pyrrolidone. The molecular formula is (C6H9NO)n, where n represents the average number of 1-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone chains. According to anhydrous matter, nitrogen (N) should be 11.0%~12.8%.
Source and preparation
N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone is polymerized and crosslinked in the presence of basic catalyst or N1-divinylimidazole to produce a crude homopolymer. Then water, 5% acetic acid and 5% ethanol are returned to the extract <=50mg/kg to obtain a pure crosslinked homopolymer. The whole synthesis time is about 3 hours. character
This product is white or near white, with hygroscopic easy to flow powder, odorless or slightly odorless, insoluble in water, alkali, acid and common organic solvents, so the molecular weight range can not be measured. This product has a high capillary/water capacity, large specific surface area, strong hydration ability(HK=5.6), high and rapid water absorption (up to 58.5%),Strong water absorption and expansion capacity, swelling coefficient of 2.25~2.30. Can complex a variety of substances, such as classification, iodine and so on.

PVPP has excellent properties. Due to its high swelling pressure, high activity and remarkable hydration ability and other comprehensive properties.
Beverage and wine industry applications:
PVPP is an insoluble, high molecular weight crosslinked compound with excellent adsorption properties. PVP-P can be used safely and efficiently in the beverage
and wine industry because:
1) Completely insoluble in beer (red wine, juice, etc.);
2) Greatly increase the container storage time of beer (wine, juice, etc.);
3) Suitable for any kind of beer (red wine, juice, etc.);
4) While improving the taste, it does not have any adverse effect on the foam and flavor of beer (red wine, juice, etc.);
